[Champagne] will change their band’s name?!

This Japanese quartet was created in 2007. This group has chosen such a sparkling name in reference to their goals in life they become rich and famous!

However….. Today, March 25th, during the live in EX THEATER ROPPONGI Tokyo at “Premium VIP Party”, Kawakami Yohei (Vo, G) announced that [Champagne] will change their band’s name!!

He explained that the reason is because the name of “Champagne” is protected as an appellation of origin by the French region,so the band received a change request to their name from the Japanese branch of Le Comité Interprofessionnel du vin de Champagne (CIVC). They decided to change the name after long discussion with the staffs as well. Surely this announcement will be a big surprise to the fans, especially those who heard the announcement today in the live.

The new band name will be announced during their live in Tokyo Budokan Concert on March 28th.
