Yamashita Tomohisa to be the lead in Kinkyori Renai Live Adaptation

It was announced that Yamashita Tomohisa will star in “Kinkyori Renai” live movie adaptation. Yamashita Tomohisa also widely known as Yamapi, is a Japanese idol, actor, singer, and TV host. He recently starred in the summer 2013 series Summer Nude and the autumn 2012 series Monsters. Other notable works include: Proposal Daisakusen, Kurosagi, Buzzer Beat and Nobuta wo Produce.

Kinkyori Renai is a manga written by Mikimoto Rin, the said manga sold 180 million copies in total that depicts the love story between a genius high school girl and a handsome tsundere teacher. Yamapi plays the role of Sakurai Haruka, the handsome tsundere teacher who is known for being popular among women, has a huge confidence and pride, and has never been in love. However, there is one of his students, Uni Kururugi who is a straight faced high school girl and always wears a kitty hair clip to make something about her cute, catches his interest.

Rising actress Komatsu Nana plays the role of genius  high school girl named Kururugi Uni. Komatsu Nana became popular for her appearance in NTT Docomo’s “d video”.

The movie has started filming from March to April of this year and is now in editing works. Yamapi shared a comment about his role in this movie, “I decided to play the role of a tsundere teacher because I never had a role like this. I was also puzzled at first on how to portray the character but because I had talks with the director, I became Haruka”.

Joining them, are: Mizukawa Asumi, Johnny’s WEST Kotaki Nozomu, Yamamoto Mizuki, and Arai Hirofumi.

Directed by Kumazawa Naoto (Kimi ni Todoke movie), “Kinkyori Renai” will hit the theaters this October.
