ROOT FIVE Releases New Mini-Album

ROOT FIVE announced a couple of things yesterday. First of All, while previously referred to as √5, for reasons such as the name being rather difficult to find in places or difficulties in inputting the √ sign, they have officially announced their name change into ROOT FIVE.

Secondly, they have also announced the release of their new mini-album, titled “Summer Days”. It will be released on July 16th, 2014. The single will be the official theme song of the movie “Magic Night”. The tracklist for the CDs are as follows:

ROOT FIVE is a five-piece singing unit, established in 2011, which consists of Dasoku, Koman, Pokota, Mi-chan and Kettaro. They were originally renowned singers who mainly cover songs and upload their singing videos to the popular Japanese video-sharing site Nico Nico Douga. Their debut single, titled “Merry Go Round” was released on December 4, 2011. Most if not all of their songs were written by fellow Nico Nico Douga users and songwriters. ROOT FIVE’s songs mostly include pop and pop-rock, whilst also employing some electronic and digital music features. ROOT FIVE is currently under Avex, and has released 5 singles and 1 album to date.
