Sakurai Sho to host NTV‘s “THE MUSIC DAY Ongaku no Chikara~”

NTV will air a special music program “THE MUSIC DAY Ongaku no Chikara” on July 6th to commemorate their 60th anniversary since its launching. Fans and viewers also have their participation as they vote their favorite songs through the show’s official site.

For this event, Arashi member, Sakurai Sho, again will serve as the main host for the 2nd consecutive year.

“THE MUSIC DAY Ongaku no Chikara” aims to connect people through time and space with the power of music. To be broadcast-ed live from Makuhari Messe in Chiba, there will be eleven hours of live music with 60 or more sets of artists that will performed with the theme, “famous piece of music that gives power to Japanese people”. This time the party will be even bigger than last year with only 33 line ups.

The event will also highlight some Johnny’s artist anniversary, since it will be Arashi’s 15th anniversary, TOKIO‘s 20th anniversary, and Kanjani8‘s 10th anniversary. It is also revealed that each group will have a special live performance as part of the program’s highlight.

Furthermore, another event called “THE MUSIC DAY LIVE presented by ‘ZERO’” will be held at the same venue on the following day.

“THE MUSIC DAY Ongaku no Chikara~” will air on July 12th at 12:00 to 22:54 (JST).
