TV anime Sword Art Online II began its broadcast in July. The first season was broadcast for six months from July 2012 and it became highly popular both within Japan and abroad. Based on the popular light novels by Reki Kawahara, the anime is produced by A-1 Pictures. With Tomohiko Ito as director, the charms of the original world are captured in the anime. The theme song music is another highlight of this series. Last season, LiSA, Haruka Tomatsu, Eir Aoi, and Luna Haruna each used music to express the world of the series, and each song became a huge hit.

Extraordinary theme songs have been announced for Sword Art Online II as well. The opening theme is “Ignite” by Eir Aoi. The ending theme is “Startear” by Luna Haruna. The CD release schedule for these two songs has also already been cemented. Both will release simultaneously from SME Records on August 20th 2014. Eir Aoi and Luna Haruna are continuing their roles from the first season. This will likely be warmly welcomed by fans.

“Ignite” is Eir Aoi’s seventh single. The song is a powerful rock tune intertwined with powerful vocals and a melody that overflows with speed. This is her third time in charge of a song for the Sword Art Online series, with the previous two being “Innocence” and “Niji no Oto.” On the other hand, “Startear” is Luna Haruna’s sixth single. The song expresses hidden strength wrapped in gentleness. Each of the CDs will come in three versions: a limited first edition (limited first disc), first edition (regular disc), and limited edition (anime disc).
