Anime Festival Asia, the Region’s Top Japanese Popular Culture Festival, Concludes Regional Circuit with Star-studded Artiste Line-up in Singapore. Anime Festival Asia (AFA), the region’s largest and most followed Japanese Popular Culture and Anime Festival, announced details of its Anisong artiste line-up for the Singapore edition. The concluding show will see organisers bring back a star-studded line-up of Anisong legends as well as up-and-coming artistes on its I Love Anisong stage. Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2016 (AFASG16) is set to return to Suntec City Convention Centre from 25 to 27 November 2016. Organised by SOZO, the Dentsu Group and Zepp Live, AFA takes on a regional circuit format this year to include a curated selection of artistes showcased in the satellite events in Thailand and Indonesia, before their performance in Singapore. Held for the ninth year, the show has seen close to 600,000 attendees in Singapore alone since it started in 2008.
I Love Anisong Line-up: Legends and New Additions
Organisers unveiled the 12 artistes and artiste groups who will be performing at AFASG16. They include six returning Anisong legends who have performed to sold-out concerts in Singapore (T.M.Revolution, JAM Project, HoneyWorks / CHiCO with HoneyWorks, Aimer, 2 KOTOKO, and May’n), while six exciting new additions, HOME MADE KAZOKU, Minori Chihara, Ami Wajima, Alisa Takigawa, Konomi Suzuki and Wake Up, Girls! will be showcased on stage this year.

From Blockbusters to Fun Run
AFASG16 will see a mix of crowd favourites as well as new activities in store for the festival programming. Organisers shared that they will be creating special activities based on anime blockbusters, including a Sword Art Online dedicated zone. Visitors can also expect the world’s first fun run based on the hit series, One Punch Man. The One Punch Man “Road to Hero” run will be held on the second day of AFASG16 (26 November 2016), from 7am to 11am at the F1 Village. Singapore Tourism Board’s Leisure Events Fund Supports Anime Festival Asia
AFASG16 is the largest pop culture convention in Singapore to be supported by Singapore Tourism Board’s Leisure Events Fund. Singapore Tourism Board’s Executive Director, Arts, Entertainment & Tourism Concept Development, Ms Carrie Kwik said, “AFA has been growing from strength to strength as evident by the strong fan support since its inception. We are pleased to support this unique event as it adds to both the depth and variety of experiences that both locals and visitors can enjoy in Singapore.”
Developing Tour Packages from Japan and Other Regions to AFASG16
To make it more convenient for fans from Japan and the region to enjoy AFA in Singapore, AFASG16 is partnering travel agencies to jointly develop customised tour packages during the AFASG16 event period. They will work with JTB Group, part of Japan’s largest travel group, to meet the needs of Japanese fans and Asia Travel for other overseas fans.

VIP 3-day ticket packages is currently available via APACTix online, hotline, box office and SingPost outlets, for public sales and the AFA World app for AFA World Premium members. This package will be priced at $398, with a $7.50 ticketing fee. Sales will continue until 7 October 2016, 11.59pm or while stocks last.
All other ticket tiers will begin sales on 8 October 2016, 10am via APACTix online, hotline, and SingPost outlets. Ticketing details are available on Annex 2. Exhibition-only tickets will be sold on-site at S$13 per day and Exhibition + Stage tickets will be at S$23 per day. Single GA ticket will be sold at S$88 while single VIP ticket per day will be sold at S$158.
