Back in 2009, I was determined to go to Japan and watch Arashi 10th anniversary concert. Being an Arashi fans since 2005 I think it’s time for me to go to Japan and watch the concert. Unfortunately, the concert ticket is not sold for the fans who don’t register in Arashi Fan Club. Even the people with Arashi fan club membership may not be able to watch it because of the balloting system.
Luckily I managed to get a ticket from my friend who can’t go to the concert due to a work. So I went to Tokyo from Osaka by bus. The JR bus was pretty decent. We bought the bus ticket for 4400 Yen and went on an overnight bus. Right after we arrived at Kokuritsu Dome, we’re pretty shocked that so many people are already queuing. That’s the most absurd queue I’ve ever done in my life. It’s for the goodies queues booth.
Across the Kokuritsu dome, people were separated by plot of blocks in a huge field. Around 300 people are in one block. At least one officer took care one block. Since the goodies booths were opened at 10am, so we have to stay in the block for around 3 hours. It was summer and I think everyone was at their limit. It was really hot and I saw several people finally went out from the blocks and sat under the trees. I only saw 2 people fainted though. JE provided the ambulance nearby. The vending machines were available but many of them were out of stock since too many people there. The convenience store around the area was extremely crowded too. I think it’s better for you to prepare yourself with decent meal and drinks so during the queues, you won’t get dizzy, hungry, or thirsty.
Around ten, the queues starts moving, each block was allowed to start move to the goodies area. There are several stops before we reach the queue areas. So people inside the goodies area were limited by the time. People go out equals with people go inside. The system is rather similar to the Johnny’s Shop Tokyo.
These are goods that were sold there:
- Pamphlet – 2,000¥
- Poster (6 Types) – 800¥
- Clear Folder (6 Types) – 500¥
- Original Photo Sets (6 Types) – 600¥
- Jumbo Uchiwa (5 Types) – 500¥

I finally got my stuffs for me and my friends around 1pm. i bought a lot because on 30th I will go back to Indonesia, and my friends asked me to buy the goodies. I went back to Shinjuku station and put all the goods in Shinjuku’s bus station. Why Shinjuku? Because after the concert ended, I have to head back to Osaka right away and there’s no locker available around Kokuritsu Dome. After Shinjuku, we went to Kanda to meet up with other friend. We finally met up at an internet café, took a bath, and slept for an hour.
Around 4 we were already at Kokuritsu again and queued for the entrance gate. I was amazed of how the girls dressed all out when coming to the concert. Their hairdo, their outfit, their uchiwa is also matching with their style. Somehow they also bring their huge luggage everywhere. Once I saw this one girl opened the luggage, it consists of makeup, dress, and hair styling stuffs like perm iron. This girl and like the rest of other girls coming, fixed their makeup and hair style casually. I envy them for being so full of preparation while I was so dull. Lol.
Then right after we pass the ticket check, we found the goodies booths around the venue. I guess that if we hold a ticket, actually we can also buy the goodies inside the venue. But the booths are not as many as the public area. Anyhow, we got our seat and wait patiently. The dome is out door and it is huge. Super huge!! Around two hours before the show and it’s already half full. The seat capacity for this concert is around 70.000 seats. We were pleased by the performance and the effects. The concert was really astonishing, where they used the water cannon, fireworks, tons of confetti, moving stage, wires, and thousands balloons flew in the end of 5X10. The long awaited song for me is 5×10 since it’s a song specially made for the 10th anniversary. I cried like a river during this performance. When I saw fans all around me, everyone was shedding tears, well after that we laughed though, being embarrassed for crying so badly.
