Hyouka (Forbidden Secrets/Frozen Dessert) is a movie based on the novel “Hyouka” by Honobu Yonezawa (Published October 31, 2001 by Kadokawa Shoten). Kento Yamazaki and Alice Hirose are main roles, but Kanata Hongo is said to become the key character of this movie.
The plot is about Hotaro Oreki (Kento Yamazaki) who is a freshman in a high school decides to join the Classic Literature Club following his older sister’s recommendation. There, Hotaro Oreki meets Eru Chitanda (Alice Hirose). They come across a Hyouka anthology which was published 33 years ago. Hotaro Oreki and Eru Chitanda begin to reveal the truth related to the Hyouka anthology, their school and school festival.
Hongo acts as a high school students, Jun Sekiya, a character who holds the key to the story. Hongo revealed that he’s pleased with his appearance in high school uniform as Hyouka is his favorite anime. “I wanted to meet Director Asato, so I was pleased to be able to join this movie. I intended to bring my character closer to the image I mentioned.”
Director Asato complimented Hongo that “He’s a genius actor. He understands the direction I want to take in a while. He has a nice smile with a nice acting. His intuition is great. There were many moments when I was shooting and moved by his acting. He’s a truly charming actor.”
Hyouka will start the roadshow nationally from November 3.
